In 2014, Toyota Motor Corp released the refreshed Tundra pickup truck. The redesign included a larger profile grille, enhanced front, and rear fenders, newly designed tailgate and tail lights, and most importantly a completely redesigned interior. The interior featured a standard 3.5-inch information screen, Bluetooth connectivity, and back up camera.
In this article, we will show you how to disassemble and replace the touchscreen on the optional Panasonic Entune 2.0 with 7-inch touchscreen navigation and non-navigation radio models. The Entune 2.0 with 7 inch touchscreen radio models are specifically used in the 2014-2019 Toyota Tundra.
When repairing a radio, we highly recommend that you keep all the screws safe in one area! We recommend a small cup or bowl.
Tools
The tools you will need for this radio disassemble are:
- Philips head screwdriver
- Flathead screwdriver
We recommend using a power drill, if available, to make the process faster.
Step 1:
To begin, remove the Volume and Tune knobs from the radio. (You will not be able to remove display from faceplate with the knobs still inserted.)
Step 2:
Next, flip the radio over and remove these five screws using a Philips-head.
Step 3:
Take a Flathead screw driver to the edges to pop off the faceplate.
Step 4:
Once the face plate is detached, remove these two ribbon cables.
Step 5:
Remove these two ribbon cables and unscrew these four screws. Once the four screws are removed, the circuit board will be ready for removal.
Step 6:
Remove these four ribbon cables and these four screws using a Philips head to release the LCD display
Step 7:
If you need to replace your touchscreen, gently pull off the broken touch screen from the LCD and set it aside. Remove screen protectors from touch screen and place new touch screen inside radio face plate. Use the cut out in the face plate to align the touchscreen.
Step 8:
Once the new Factory Radio Parts touch screen is inserted into the radio face plate, insert the LCD on top of the new touch screen.
Step 9:
After placing LCD into radio face plate, place circuit board back on top of the LCD and reconnect the four ribbon cables.
Step 10:
Next screw back in the four screws that hold the LCD display in place.
Step 11:
Attach any left over ribbon cables and place safety plate on circuit board and screw in the four screws into the safety plate.
Step 12:
Lastly, attach the last two ribbon cables to the radio and pop the back of the radio back on.
Step 13:
Once the face plate is securely attached, insert the last five screws into the face plate and you are done!
